Christina & Brian : Baby #2

A few years back just when I decided I wanted to give photography the green light, Christina and Brian so graciously volunteered to be my models for a maternity shoot.  At the time, they were expecting baby #1.  I shot the first set of photos with a Canon Rebel T3i and a 50mm 1.8 lens, you know the one I'm talking about.  I did many, many of my first shoots with that camera and that lens.  I taught myself how to shoot in manual mode and honestly didn't know know a thing about ISO and light.  That would probably explain why I did the shoot at noon in full sun on a summer day and couldn't figure out how so many other people got those dreamy, buttery portraits.  Why didn't mine look like that?  I laugh about it now but at the time, I just wasn't seeing those tack sharp images like the pros had.  You can see those photos here but if you look at them, please be nice.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago to my maternity session with Christina and Brian.  This time they invited me to capture some of their last photos as a family of three.  Christina is expecting baby #2 very soon.

I'm honestly thrilled with the outcome of this session. I am so thankful and quite honestly grateful that Christina and Brian had faith in me two years ago and still have faith in me today.  For letting me capture their growing family and in a few short weeks capture their sweet new addition.  I am so excited to share some shots from this session.

Photography is such a journey.  Every single time I have a shoot I try to get better.  Every. Single. Time.  While I know I still have a ways to go in my journey to get to where I want to be, I'm so happy with my hard work, my dedication, my practice.
